Blue Dog takes on “The Challenge of Change”

The 2018 Design and Technology Teachers’ Association (DATTA) Queensland Conference focused on the changing nature of training in Australia.

Blue Dog Training exhibited at the conference to cement its position at the forefront of innovation in Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS).

Blue Dog’s progressive, flexible learning system includes real-time tracking of student progress, giving both the learner and teacher an understanding of progression at all times.

Teachers at the conference who were not previously aware of Blue Dog’s method of training were surprised to learn of the engaging video content used to convey information to learners, and the support given to teachers by qualified and committed VETiS trainers.

Brad Johnston, Head of Department – Applied Technology at Stretton State College, attended the conference, and gave high praise to Blue Dog.

“I can say without doubt the Blue Dog Training interface, content and ‘point-in-time’ tracking is second to none, in fact daylight second. My other RTO’s are tired of the constant benchmarking of their services against what your team provides,” Brad said.

To fit the conference theme, part of Blue Dog’s exhibition stall included a virtual reality welder, where attendees could compete for the top spot on the Blue Dog leader board and win a DeWalt cordless drill.

A timber estimation competition was run simultaneously, giving attendees the chance to win a second drill.

When it was all said and done, Gary Hill used his steady hand to take out the virtual welding challenge, while Alex Low won the estimation challenge with a guess that was 5mm from the actual length.
